Anafi is a Greek island belonging to the Cyclades archipelago of 294 inhabitants. Together with another small island it forms a common homonym belonging to the southern Aegean region. The island is located in the southeastern Aegean, east of the island of Santorini.

Heraklion, also known as Candia, is a port city and the capital of the Greek island of Crete. It is known for the Palace of Knossos, just outside the city. The huge archaeological site dates back to the Minoan civilisation thousands of years ago and includes frescoes and baths. The 16th-century Koules Fortress guards the town's Venetian port. The Archaeological Museum of Heraklion houses a large collection of Minoan art.
